Kind tourists gave Buddhist monks a lift home on their motorcycles.

The foreigners exploring the island on two-wheelers passed by the orange-robed religious disciples and offered to take them to them back to the local temple.

Footage shows the holidaymaker with a monk riding a pillion while his friend recorded him in Pattaya, Thailand.

He said in the video: 'Just got a monk on the back as you do.'

The video then pointed to their other friend who also had a monk riding on his back.

The monk, appearing to be unused to the speed, said: 'I think I am going to die.'

They dropped off the two monks at their destination and took a photo together.

The grateful monks then tied sacred threads around the good Samaritans' wrists and blessed them for good luck and safety.

However, locals found the act inappropriate which allegedly damaged the religion's image especially when one of them put his arms around the monk's shoulders.

Others found it light-hearted and praised the foreigners for giving the monks a free ride.
