A man ripped off tasers and ran into the sea during a dramatic arrest that took over an hour in Gold Coast, Australia.

The filmer told Newsflare: "I saw about eight police officers and this one man trying to chase him off the Hedland rocks down to the beach.

"They finally got him down to the beach once they did that the guy started mouthing off to the police officers telling them let’s go then to to initiate fighting.

"He then punched one officer in the head and began to swing at the other officer when the first officer went to taser him near the water, he ripped the tasers off and swam into the ocean.

"He then swam in the ocean for about an hour until police and lifeguards were able to bring him back in again and he got arrested at Tallebudgera Beach Gold Coast Australia."
