Spiderman thief descends from ceiling of grocery shop
This is the shocking moment a thief moves like Spider-Man, skillfully descending from the ceiling of a grocery shop after stealing money.
CCTV footage shows the burglar, wearing only shorts, inspecting the cash drawer in Songkhla, Thailand, on February 24 at 11:42 pm.
The suspect stepped onto a monobloc chair, then onto a table, gripping a metal gate with one hand while holding the stolen item in the other.
He then escaped through an opening in the ceiling.
Shop owner Phuangnoi Chumlaor discovered a hole in the roof with a board lying on the floor when she arrived the following morning.
She found that 500 baht (12 GBP) in banknotes and coins had been stolen from a cabinet, while other items remained untouched.
Phuangnoi and her husband filed a report at Padang Besar Police Station in the evening.
She believed the suspect had climbed a pole at the back of the shop before getting onto the roof.
This was the second incident, following a similar theft on February 23, when someone climbed onto the toilet roof and stole vegetable oil.
Police said the footage was clear and expected to catch the suspect within three days.
Phuangnoi noted that she is not expecting to recover the stolen money but wants the thief caught and urges authorities to patrol the area more frequently.
