The Meetings Africa 2025 trade show, held on Tuesday and Wednesday, provided critical opportunities for networking, business development, and showcased Africa's growing business potential.
On the opening day, South Africa's Minister of Tourism, Patricia de Lille, delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the rising importance of South Africa and the broader African continent in the global business events industry.
The event featured over 400 exhibitors from across Africa and beyond, highlighting the continent's diverse and dynamic business capabilities.
As part of its strategic initiatives, South Africa's Department of Tourism is focusing on key areas such as improving visa regulations, destination marketing, safety and security, product development, and expanding domestic and international aviation routes. Additionally, the government is investing in tourism infrastructure and services, with a strong emphasis on job creation.
South Africa has secured 53 international business events to be hosted between 2024 and 2029.
