Driver hits the brakes as landslide crashes down mountainside
This is the dramatic moment a driver hits the brakes just seconds before a landslide crashes down in front of him on a mountainside in India.
The incident occurred on the Kullu-Manali highway in Himachal Pradesh on Friday, February 28.
Heart-stopping footage shows the vehicle slamming on its brakes just in time, narrowly avoiding falling debris. Rocks were seen tumbling down the road.
Authorities said that extreme weather conditions likely triggered the incident.
Heavy rain and snowfall wreaked havoc across many parts of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday, causing significant disruptions, including the blocking of over 200 roads and widespread power outages.
Emergency responders promptly arrived at the site to assess the situation.
