A brave tourist swung along a rickety zip line over a canyon that was thousands of feet above ground in China.

Footage shows Iqmal Hakim wearing the harness with the help of the ride operator at the Shangri-La Grand Canyon at Sichuan's Balagezong Scenic Area.

Iqmal can be heard panting nervously while making final safety checks on the rusty line before crossing the 2,000ft high canyon.

He laughed while being instructed and was launched forward when the gate was opened.

The adventurer glided along the cable with his friend before reaching the end of the 1,400ft long ride.

He said: 'It was one of the highest ziplines that took me on a ride through the canyon at Balagezong National Park. It was breathtaking. The view was stunning.'
