This is the amusing moment zookeepers introduced a tiny beetle to a tiger cub - only for it to back away in fear instead of swatting it away.

Footage shows Kathin, the adorable wildcat, moving away from the insect that its two caretakers found on the grass in Chonburi, Thailand on February 27.

The feline appears visibly scared, walking backwards to the lap of one of the zoo staff, seemingly seeking comfort, while the other employee uses a stick to push the insect toward the cub.

It then nibbles on the worker's lap while glaring at the insect.

One of the zookeepers said: 'We just wanted to see how Kathin would react if we showed him the bug. To our surprise, he was scared of it.'
