At around 2 PM on 1 March, in Zhenping County, Nanyang City, Henan Province, a rotating swing ride at a temple fair suddenly collapsed when its central support column gave way. The accident left two people injured, one of whom tragically died after unsuccessful emergency treatment at the hospital.

Following the incident, emergency rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene, and the person responsible for the amusement ride has been taken into custody.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the ride may have been an unregulated, substandard product, with its main structure welded from second-hand, recycled steel, posing serious safety risks.

The police have launched an investigation and are working to determine the exact cause of the accident as soon as possible.
