Hero cop saves stranded dog from frozen lake in New Jersey
This is the heroic moment a brave cop saves a stranded dog from a frozen lake in New Jersey.
Dramatic footage shows Patrolman Doug Centrone carefully edging across the thin ice before plunging into the freezing waters to grab the pooch.
The incident occurred at Veteran's Park in Hazlet on February 25, around 9:50 am.
Centrone then hoisted the canine, Taffy, who carefully walked back to safety on her own.
Taffy's owner explained that her leash slipped free as she tripped while chasing a goat onto the ice.
The pet was later bundled in blankets and warmed up in the car.
The owner thanked the courageous police officer for his quick action.
