Oakland, United States - March 02, 2025 At approximately 8:30am OPD & OFD responded to a 911 call from a woman (not on scene) that was reporting that her son shot his wife. Upon arrival officers found a female inside an apartment at 2641 74th Ave with a gunshot wound to the head. She was not conscious and had no pulse. A neighbor on scene advised that he saw a Black male attempt to flee on foot on 74th Ave, when officers arrived, OPD quickly apprehended him. The filmer believe that suspect is in the squad car with the close up in the footage. A short time after his arrival, the ambulance left, no lights, no sirens. The filmer overheard an officer advise it was a homicide scene. At 9:20am an officer exited the residence with a baby wrapped in a blanket and walked it over to waiting relatives (a grandmother). A few minutes after, the officer exited the residence with a second baby wrapped in a blanket (twins). Although the relatives did not wish to speak, they did confirm the babies belonged to the suspect and victim. 74th Ave was closed between Garfield and Hillside for the investigation.
