UK: Pack of Tiny Wild Dogs Storms Back to Woburn Safari Park
Woburn, United Kingdom - March 03, 2025 Woburn Safari Park is buzzing with excitement. Two new bush dogs have arrived from France. This marks the park’s first international animal move in five years. The female comes from Thoiry, the male from Amiens. They have not met yet. Keepers are taking it slow. They started with a mesh barrier. This lets the dogs sniff each other safely. The pair take turns exploring their outdoor space. Soon, they will meet face-to-face. The team wants a smooth introduction. Catherine Doherty leads the Animal Encounters team. She shared her joy. “We are thrilled to have bush dogs back,” she said. “They’re the smallest pack-hunting wild dogs in the world. Their webbed feet make them great swimmers. We can’t wait to see them play in the water.” The park picked this duo for breeding. Experts chose them based on Woburn’s strong care record. The dogs now live in Cachorro Range. It’s a space built just for them. Bush dogs love company. They make high-pitched calls. Visitors can hear their chatter soon. These animals face big threats. Habitat loss and fewer prey hurt their numbers. They are Near Threatened. Woburn Safari Park fights to save endangered species. This pair could bring pups one day. That’s a big win for conservation.
