Stranded hiker rescued by helicopter close to Italian village
This is the heroic moment a stranded hiker was rescued by a helicopter team near an Italian village.
The mountaineer triggered a full-scale rescue operation when he went missing in the rugged terrain above Porto Ceresio on Tuesday, March 4.
Footage shows a responder being lowered and airlifted along with the distressed hiker.
The rescue operation involved multiple agencies, including the Fire Department, Alpine Rescue, Speleological teams, and river specialists, who coordinated both aerial and ground crews to navigate the challenging environment using their Drago 150 helicopter.
