Earthquake rattles wedding as couple repeat their vows
This is the shocking moment a powerful earthquake rattled a wedding ceremony while a couple were saying their vows.
Groom Joey Eloy and bride Ivy had their families were getting married at the mayor's office when the magnitude 5.4 quake shook the building in Davao del Sur, the Philippines.
Footage shows the bride about to repeat her vows when the ground trembled and a rumbling noise filled the room on March 4.
Wall displays toppled due to the strong tremors and the friends and families attending the ceremony appeared frightened.
However, mayor Ronie Sarande and the couple decided to finish the ceremony so Ivy and Joey could become officially husband and wife before evacuating from the building.
The mayor's executive assistant, Anthony Allada, said: 'I was the one who advised them to stay calm.
'The building is fit since it was properly rehabilitated following the series of quakes in 2019.'
The ceremony continued after the three-second quake. The couple finished their vows and exited the building while following safety measures.
Officials at the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported that the quake occurred at 9:42 am local time at a depth of 10km. It struck west of the town of Matanao and there were no casualties.
The Philippines is an archipelago of more than 7,000 islands inside the Pacific 'Ring of Fire' where the majority of Earth's volcano eruptions and earthquakes happen.
