This is the heart-stopping moment a supermarket worker jumps out of a car's way as it smashes into the store and a customer.

The incident took place in the Ataturk neighbourhood of the Unye District, Ordu Province, Turkey, on Saturday, March 1.

Footage shows the store employee at the checkout as he deals with a shopper.

Suddenly, he looks out the large pane window to his right and, with quick reflexes, leaps aside just in time as a black Renault sedan violently crashes into the store, tearing through the counter, sending debris flying, and hitting the customer standing there.

The car was driven by Mevlut Kuru, who was with his wife, Fatma Kuru.

Both of them were injured, as was the customer, identified as Kubra Koc.

All three were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Reports said the car's driver swerved to avoid another vehicle, causing him to strike the supermarket.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
