Bakersfield, United States - March 04, 2025 03/04/2025 03:16 pm (GMT-0800) BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Kern County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a male in a wheelchair at the intersection of El Tejon Avenue and Airport Drive on Tuesday afternoon. The vehicle that struck the man in the wheelchair fled the scene before first responders arrived. The male was transported by Hall Ambulance with major injuries. A witness reported that the man was inside the crosswalk when two vehicles approached. While the first vehicle stopped, the second vehicle failed to stop and struck the man.
