A tabby cat was seen sprawled out on a hospital bed while napping.

Footage shows the six-year-old feline named Lotus dozed off on the mattress intended for patients at a ward in the building in Phichit, Thailand, on March 4.

Lotus appeared to sleep comfortably as it was used to doctors and nurses who gave it food.

Medic Petcharat Sinpeng said: 'Lotus was a stray cat that visited the hospital to look for food.

'We always feed it, and it never left after that. It helps us against pests and other possible predators.'

Thailand, a largely Buddhist nation, believes that kindness towards animals should be encouraged, with temples sometimes being a safe refuge for stray cats, dogs, and even monkeys that don't have homes.
