US: Hero Cop Saves Man from Fiery Wreck on US 22
Bridgewater, United States - March 05, 2025 A brave policeman became a lifesaver in the early hours of March 5, 2025, after a horrific crash on U.S. Highway 22 west near the Thompson Avenue exit ramp. The Bridgewater Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau is investigating the 2:11 a.m. smash that saw Officer Noah Allatt pull a man from a burning car. The chaos kicked off when a Hyundai Elantra, driven by Peter J. Della-Ventura, 44, from North Plainfield, New Jersey, slammed into a 2007 Freightliner tanker truck operated by Zachary J. Roslin, 33, from Freehold. Della-Ventura’s passenger was Moosade Z. Harris, 26, from Plainfield. Roslin was exiting the Speedway gas station at 1620 US-Hwy 22 W, while Della-Ventura sped along Rt. 22 west in the right lane. The collision was catastrophic—the vehicles fused and erupted in flames, skidding 685 feet down the road. Roslin wrestled the blazing wreck to a stop on the shoulder. But it was Officer Allatt, patrolling nearby, who stole the show. Spotting Della-Ventura unconscious and trapped in the inferno, he leapt into action, dragging the driver from the engulfed Elantra in a heart-stopping rescue. Harris and Roslin escaped their vehicles alone, but Allatt’s heroics saved Della-Ventura’s life. Fire crews from Finderne, Martinsville, and Green Knoll, plus Robert Wood Johnson Hospital paramedics, rushed to help. Martinsville and Green Knoll Rescue Squads also lent a hand. Della-Ventura and Harris were whisked to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with non-life-threatening injuries.
