This is the heroic moment a brave policeman saved a driver from a vehicle fire in New Jersey.

The incident began when a Hyundai Elantra slammed into a 2007 Freightliner tanker truck on U.S. Highway 22 West near the Thompson Avenue exit ramp on March 5 at around 2:11 am.

The Bridgewater Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Bureau reported that truck driver Zachary Roslin was exiting the Speedway petrol station while car operator Peter Della-Ventura and passenger Moosade Harris sped along Route 22 West in the right lane.

Heart-stopping footage shows courageous Officer Noah Allatt spotting Della-Ventura unconscious and trapped in the inferno.

He then leapt into action, pulling the driver from the burning car.

Fire crews and paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson Hospital rushed to help.

Della-Ventura and Harris were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with non-life-threatening injuries.
