Family leap away from truck crashing into row of homes
This is the shocking moment family members leapt away from a truck crashing into the front of their home.
Pornthip Ruangsorn was having dinner with a relative when a pick up truck spun out of control and slammed onto the property in Samut Sakhon, Thailand, on March 4 evening.
CCTV footage shows Pornthip hearing a screeching tyre's noise and looking onto the road.
She quickly stood up with the lad and fled the table before the car hit the wall of their home.
The table where the residents had been sitting hurtled from the impact.
Pornthip: 'That happened right in front of my house. The sound was deafening. It was so scary.'
Four residents, including the driver, were injured, some of whom were inside the house when the crash happened.
Those who were hurt were taken to Vichaiyut Hospital for treatment.
Despite being one of the wealthiest countries in Asia, Thailand suffers from chronic underinvestment in its highways and education, contributing to its poor road safety levels. Only a handful of African countries are worse.
Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.
