This is the amusing moment a family were shocked when a gecko showed up on their car window in Thailand.

The locals were driving to a restaurant in Phayao province for dinner when the reptile appeared on the passenger's seat window, on February 28.

Footage shows the driver letting out a high-pitched shriek as he acts terrified of the bug-eyed creature peering through the window. A toddler tickled by the scene was heard laughing in the backseat.

Wife Kanokrat Suwanrat said: 'We eventually slowed down and tried to catch the gecko in order to release it safely. However, it fled under the car. We decided to leave it alone. It might have crawled onto our car while it was parked in our garage.'
