Determined DPS Troopers weren’t about to let him slip away that easily. They executed a slick PIT maneuver, forcing the car to a screeching halt and bringing the wild pursuit to an end. But the drama didn’t stop there. Barbosa and his passenger, Marcos Julian from San Benito, leapt from the vehicle and made a desperate dash on foot. Their bid for freedom was short-lived, though, as the relentless Troopers quickly nabbed them after a brief chase. Barbosa now faces a slew of serious charges, including evading arrest, smuggling of persons with the likelihood of serious bodily injury or death, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
