Passengers were seen perched on the roof of an overloaded rickshaw in India.

Two men dangerously sat atop the three-wheeler while others were packed inside the moving vehicle in Uttar Pradesh.

Footage shows the travellers balancing on the roof while the rickshaw sped along a road on Mach 7 evening.

Onlooker Bharat Samachar said: 'They were speeding towards Jail Square and swerved while doing so.'

Jhansi Police Station later investigated the video for breaking traffic safety regulations, which was reported to them by concerned residents.

The station said: 'The traffic in-charge has been instructed to take necessary action regarding the matter.'

India's transportation system often faces overloading issues due to high population density and inadequate infrastructure.

With limited buses, trains, and rickshaws, travellers are forced to cram into available transport, especially in rural areas.

Many rely on overcrowded shared vehicles because they are more affordable than private transport.
