Zambales, Philippines - March 09, 2025 In a stunning show of grit, the BRP Cabra (MRRV 4409) has held its ground against a massive China Coast Guard (CCG) vessel, despite towering waves and fierce conditions. The Philippine Coast Guard ship faced off with CCG vessel 3105, a beast over 130 meters long, and kept it more than 95 nautical miles from the Zambales coast. Waves crashing at three to five meters high didn’t deter the crew from their mission. The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is locked in a battle against what they slam as China’s illegal antics. They say the CCG’s presence flouts the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), the Philippines Maritime Zones Act, and the 2016 Arbitral Award. The PCG isn’t backing down, throwing their vessels into the fray to stop China from muscling in and rewriting the rules in the Philippines’ Exclusive Economic Zone. This isn’t just about boats—it’s about pride and principle. The PCG vows to honor President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.’s ironclad pledge that not a single inch of Philippine turf will be lost to foreign powers. Even with smaller ships and wild weather stacking the odds against them, the brave souls aboard BRP Cabra refuse to budge. They’re out there, day and night, shielding Filipino fishermen and securing the nation’s waters from unwanted intruders.
