Macon, United States - March 03, 2025 Bibb County deputies nabbed an armed man who spooked women at a park and then asked officers if they “wanted to go see God today.” The drama erupted at Amerson River Park on March 3 when the Sheriff’s Office was tipped off about a man harassing female walkers on the trail. Body camera footage captured the bloke, dressed in what looked like a safety vest, yanking a handgun from his pocket as deputies closed in. Things got wild fast. He turned “verbally combative,” revealed his name as Eugene Andre Carswell, Jr., and lobbed the eerie taunt: “Want to go see God today?” He warned the cops not to touch him, griping he “felt burned” by their hands and accusing them of stirring up a scene while he played it cool. When deputies spotted his gun, they pulled their own firearms. Carswell then pleaded not to be shot, before darting to his Honda to escape the park. The officers weren’t fazed. They halted him as he refused to leave his car, eventually hauling him out. He was whisked to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center. Now he’s facing charges like terroristic threats and acts, obstructing law enforcement with violence, fleeing a felony, and disorderly conduct. Jail records confirm he’s still banged up in the county detention facility. No bond for this chap. God’ll have to wait!
