Los Angeles, United States - March 10, 2025 03/10/2025 01:43 am (GMT-0700) DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A structure fire occurred early this morning in the 1300 block of South Flower Street in Downtown, prompting an extensive emergency response from the Los Angeles Fire Department. Firefighters were dispatched just before 2 a.m. Upon arrival, crews reported that flames were well involved in a two-story commercial property. Due to the severe conditions inside the building, they quickly transitioned to defensive operations. At approximately 2:15 a.m., the fire had extended into two adjacent commercial units, but firefighters were making good progress in controlling the blaze. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. By 2:25 a.m., crews had successfully extinguished the fire in the original building but remained focused on containing the situation in the neighboring units. Resources continued to be deployed as needed, with firefighters working diligently to manage multiple active fire incidents. Emergency medical teams were on standby, and metro train services were temporarily halted in the area as a safety precaution. Firefighters completed thorough primary and secondary searches of the affected structures, ensuring no occupants remained inside. As the incident unfolded, updates were provided regarding the situation, with progress being made to combat the flames and prevent further spread. The LAFD announced at 3:20 a.m. that knockdown had been achieved by over 100 firefighters at the scene. Crews remained throughout the morning to address remaining hot spots and conduct overhaul operations. LAFD Arson responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
