Los Angeles, United States - March 10, 2025 03/10/2025 01:43 am (GMT-0700) DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched shortly after 1:43 a.m. to a vacant commercial building fire located in the 1300 block of South Flower Street, near the intersection of Cameron Lane. Shortly before 2 a.m. firefighters reported that a two-story, boarded-up building, the site of a previous fire, was well involved in flames. Fire crews adopted a defensive posture, indicating that the situation required focus on preventing the fire from spreading, and directly combating the blaze from the outside. At approximately 2:00 a.m., officials announced the shutdown of Metro tracks in the area to ensure safety as emergency responders managed the situation. Despite the intensive fire conditions, no exposures to adjacent structures were reported. The LAFD Central Bureau continued efforts to control the fire along with numerous resources including Engine companies, Rescue teams and support units. As the operation continued, no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
