Palestine supporters protested over the arrest of a fanatic who climbed the Big Ben clock tower in London.

Daniel Day, 29, from Palmerston Road in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, scaled the landmark barefoot on Saturday morning, March 8, remaining on the 316ft (96m) structure for several hours before descending shortly after midnight.

He faced charges of intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance and trespassing on a protected site.

Footage shows demonstrators gathered outside Charing Cross Police Station to support Day, waving Palestinian flags and chanting in solidarity.

Day was remanded in custody and was scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Israel has blitzed the Gaza Strip in retaliation for a terror attack by the governing party Hamas on a Jewish music festival on October 7, 2023.

However, the situation - which Israel claims is self-defence - has attracted criticism from around the world.
