A python that was found stuck in a manhole cover outside a resident's home was rescued by firemen in Thailand.

The 10ft serpent tried to slither down the drainage, but its body was too thick for the holes in Bangkok, Thailand.

Footage shows rescue volunteers working on freeing the animal after the house owner called them to help save it.

The heavy concrete cover was lifted off and the two team members removed the animal safely before being taken for release.

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
