Armed robbers caught on camera raiding jewellery store in India
Armed robbers were caught on camera raiding a jewellery store in India.
A group of men stole jewelleries worth 250 million Indian Rupees (approximately 2,460,000 GBP) at gunpoint from the Tanishq gold shop in Arrah, Bihar, on the morning of March 10.
CCTV footage shows the suspects brandishing firearms and aiming them at security guards, employees, and customers, whom they held hostage.
They can be seen ordering everyone to raise their hands while other thieves looted gold, silver, and diamond ornaments, stuffing them into bags before fleeing the scene.
The perpetrators reportedly arrived in a vehicle and parked nearby before carrying out the heist. They then overpowered the security guards, assaulted them, and proceeded to ransack the store.
Rohit Kumar Mishra, an employee, recounted the harrowing ordeal, describing how the robbers seized firearms, forced individuals to one side, and resorted to violence.
Despite repeated attempts by another employee, Simran, to contact the nearby police station for assistance, no officers arrived in time to prevent the robbery. The lack of police response allowed the criminals to escape with their haul.
Two robbers were reportedly injured in a confrontation with law enforcement following the heist, yet they still managed to flee with the stolen goods.
The incident is currently under investigation, with authorities working diligently to track down and apprehend those responsible.
The incident has sparked concerns about the safety and security of businesses and individuals in the area.
