A sewage truck broke a pavement and spilled waste into a family's front yard.

Sanitation workers were completing a routine septic tank service when the four-wheeler, reversing on the roadside, plunged through a concrete drainage cover.

CCTV footage shows one of the rear wheels of the vehicle falling into the hole, tilting the truck and damaging an extended pipe.

The accident resulted in a leak from the sewage tank, spurting filthy water from the waste container in Roi Et, Thailand, on March 8.

One of the employees recalled that they could not reposition the vehicle and decided to release the sewage from the tank to reduce the lorry's weight.

A man can be seen removing the lid of the cargo, causing a fountain of foul-smelling liquid to disperse in front of a home.

They then used hoses to spray clean water to remove the stench. However, the sheer amount of waste quickly led to flooding.

A resident said: 'The stench was so overwhelming, and we could not take it anymore.'

Complaints from locals prompted the company to carry out an urgent cleanup operation.
