Quick-thinking restaurant staff extinguish gas stove fire
A quick-thinking restaurant worker swiftly extinguished a stove that erupted in flames.
Apinya Junglok was preparing orders and turned on their new burner when the fire flared up in Samut Songkhram, Thailand, on January 30.
CCTV footage shows Apinya turning the knob on when the stove ignited, and flames spread around the counter.
The cook backed away but took one step forward to the side to close the gas valve.
He said: 'I recently bought the stove online for a discounted price. It was the first time we were turning it on.'
Apinya's wife, Yonradee Khongwijit, fled to the corner of the kitchen while her husband took care of the fire in seconds.
He added: 'I'm just glad that nobody was hurt especially my wife.'
