Central District detectives and the General Security Service arrested a resident of Taiba
March 13, 2025 Central District detectives and the General Security Service arrested a resident of Taiba who swore allegiance to ISIS and passed information about security forces' activities to operatives in Judea and Samaria. In a joint operation by the Shin Bet and police forces, detectives from the Sharon Region Crime Fighting Unit and Sharon Special Operations Command fighters arrested a 21-year-old man, Kamel Nashef, a resident of Taiba, on suspicion of activity inspired by the organization "Islamic State" (ISIS). During his interrogation by Sharon's Intelligence Department and the Shin Bet, it emerged that starting in the summer of 2024, Nassef consumed ISIS content on social media and even made contact with operatives affiliated with the organization. It also emerged that Nassef swore allegiance to the ISIS organization, considered himself a member of the organization, and even possessed information identified with the organization that was seized as part of his arrest. The findings of the investigation revealed that Nassef sought revenge on the State of Israel and took part in the activities of organizations, in light of the State of Israel's activities in the Gaza Strip. Among other things, the defendant photographed the security forces on their way to Tulkarm and transmitted this information via Telegram to activists in the field to help them prepare for the entry of the security forces. At the end of the investigation, an indictment will be filed against him. [Source: Israeli Police]
