A storm blew away tents at a Buddhist temple in northeast Thailand.

Strong winds damaged two large canopies at Wat Sangkat Rattana Khiri temple in Uthai Thani on March 12.

Footage captured by Narongchai Paripunno shows the structures being dragged by powerful winds amid heavy rainfall.

Narongchai said: 'After the storm, we moved the dented tents out of the yard and swept the grounds because dried leaves and other debris were scattered everywhere.'

Authorities have urged residents to stay indoors during the storm.

Thailand is occasionally affected by tropical storms, particularly during the monsoon season from May to October. These storms typically form in the South China Sea or the Pacific Ocean and move westward, bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and flooding.

A tropical storm is a weather system with wind speeds ranging from 63 to 118 km/h (39 to 73 mph), forming over warm ocean waters. While less intense than a hurricane or typhoon, it can still cause significant damage.
