Authorities evacuated Texas Tech University on March 12 after a gas leak triggered an underground explosion near a substation, igniting multiple fires across campus.
Footage filmed by @rishi_cash shows flames erupting from manholes, with witnesses describing eerie green flames lighting up the area. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and the university was swiftly closed, sending students into an early Spring Break.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but officials described the situation as "very active." Power was partially restored by the following morning as crews continued their efforts to secure the area.
