Shocking footage has emerged from China of a driver who got out of his car on a motorway to smoke narrowly avoiding getting crushed by a lorry.

In the dash cam video, captured in Nanyang, Henan Province on January 1, the man can be seen wandering around the side of his car when the lorry tries to squeeze through a small gap, nearly hitting him.

Although the car was seriously damaged, the driver escaped injuries.

Cars were stuck on the motorway because of severe fog.

Suddenly, he runs aways and then an out-of-control lorry bumps into his car.

Although the car was damaged seriously, the driver escaped being crashed.
