This is the funny moment a toddler brutally shut down his dad's idea to socialise.

Kirk Neugebauer, 42, was taking a walk with his wife and their then two-year-old son, Judah, when they spotted kids playing at the park.

Having read parenting books about the importance of socializing, Kirk asked Judah if he wanted to join them—only for the toddler to give an instant and hilariously firm "no."

Kirk and his wife burst into laughter at their son's response.

Kirk, from Sterling, Illinois, said: "We were so caught off guard—both by his quick assessment of the offer and his firm rejection of it."

"And when he continued to skip away, humming to himself, we laughed at how content he was to do his own thing."

"He is a very sweet boy but values his alone time and the company of his mom and dad to this day!"
