Lion cub falls into well, pulled to safety
A Female lion cub that accidentally fell into a well near Dodia Vadodara Village was successfully rescued by forest officials using harnesses and ropes.
The incident took place in Talala, Gir Somnath District, Gujarat, Western India, on March 14.
The visuals show the lion cub trapped in the well as forest officers use harnesses and ropes to pull it out to safety. After the successful rescue, the cub was placed inside a cage. A small rescue team was also seen involved in the operation.
Speaking to Newslions Media, K.D. Pampaniya, Range Forest Officer of Veraval City, Gujarat, stated that the well where the cub had fallen belongs to Mayur Singh Bhagwanbhai Rathod. It is located near the forest border in Dodiya, Vadodara, under the Veraval Round of the Veraval Range. Following the rescue, the cub was placed under the care of Mr. D.C.F. Sir Shri Junagadh Forest Department, as per official instructions.
