Abby became an internet sensation a few years back after videos for her unique bodyboarding skills went viral.

Unfortunately, this beloved pooch passed away in 2025. Abby's owner told Newsflare: "We lost sweet Abby to inoperable cancer. My family and I are devastated. Abby brought so much joy to everyone that met her and to countless others that watched her videos over the years."

Footage shows the canine skilfully balancing on a small board in her swimming pool whilst retrieving her ball.

The dog's owner added: "My family rescued Abby from a shelter. Abby had a terrible start to life, filled with abuse and neglect. When we adopted Abby she was beaten down. She was a sweet dog but after years of abuse she was afraid of everything.

"Abby was a lab mix. Labs notoriously love water. Abby did not. My sweet girl was afraid of everything. She was not food motivated. Would cower in fear when I tried to pet her. The only joy she has was from a beaten up tennis ball from the shelter.

"I could Not stand the way she was suffering. I introduced her to our swimming pool. Abby was so afraid at first, until I used Her ball to get her into the pool on the bodyboard.

"This smart little rescue dog learned how to move her bodyboard to get the thing she loved the most, her ball."
