Severe flooding in Tuscany prompted dozens of evacuations across northern Italy.

Authorities reported that Florence, the region's capital, received nearly a month's worth of rainfall on Friday morning, March 14.

Regional chief Eugenio Giani issued a red weather alert, urging residents to exercise 'maximum care and attention' due to the ongoing heavy rain.

Dramatic footage shows vehicles stranded in the floodwaters, while aerial videos highlight the widespread flooding in the area.

Officials confirmed that 539 firefighters were deployed across Tuscany, with over 300 interventions either completed or planned.

Classes were suspended in more than 60 municipalities throughout the region. No casualties have been reported.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue over the northern half of Italy into Saturday, with drier conditions expected afterwards.
