Robotic dogs join firefighting team in east China's Qingdao (Voice_over) Two quadruped robots are the newest members of the Qingdao Fire and Rescue Brigade in east China's Shandong Province. In addition to intelligent features like being able to stand up again after a fall, the robot dogs' self-balancing mechanisms let them move freely along various terrains. The robots are equipped with a rapid laser scanning system and can transmit live HD images for monitoring, even from hazardous environments with thick smoke, high temperatures, and toxic gases. (Sound_bite) Ling Ming, Firefighter, Information and Communication Division, Qingdao Fire Rescue Brigade: "With this technology, we can assess disaster situations remotely, allowing us to develop more scientific and safer rescue plans. This will greatly enhance our command efficiency and accuracy." (Voice_over) The quadruped robots weigh approximately 70 kg each, can move at a maximum speed of about 18 kilometers per hour, and can operate continuously for over three hours.
