Los Angeles, United States - March 17, 2025 03/17/2025 10:58 am (GMT-0700) VICTORVILLE, Calif. – A sheriff's deputy with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's Victorville Station was involved in a fatal traffic collision Monday morning while in pursuit of a stolen vehicle, according to authorities. The incident occurred at the intersection of Seneca Road and El Evado Road in Victorville. Reports indicate that the deputy collided with an unrelated sedan driven by a female. According to a sheriff’s spokesperson on camera, the deputy suffered severe injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the sedan sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital; her father, who declined to comment on camera, stated she is expected to survive. The spokesperson said that around 10:58 a.m., deputies with the Victorville City Station were involved in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle that had fled the scene of a traffic stop and was found to be stolen earlier today out of Adelanto. One of those deputies involved in the pursuit was involved in the fatal collision. Authorities did manage to stop the suspect vehicle, and the driver was taken into custody, according to the spokesperson. The intersection is expected to remain closed for several hours as the investigation continues, extending into tomorrow morning. The deputy has not been identified at this time.
