Herd of 20 wild gaurs crossing highway frightens villagers
This is the moment a herd of gaurs crossed a highway frightening villagers in Thailand.
Footage shows the wild bovine cutting in front of trucks on Highway 304 in Nakhon Ratchasima province, on March 10.
Motorists gave way as the animals - including several agitated calves - stampeded on the pavement before fleeing to a nearby field.
Authorities said the herd had come from the Thap Lan National Park and have successfully been guided back into a forest. Rangers warned drivers to be careful of crossing animals.
Gaurs are a large, wild bovine native to South and Southeast Asia, known for their muscular build, dark brown coat, and distinctive white markings on their legs. They are largest species of wild cattle, with males weighing up to 1,500 kg (3,300 lbs).
