This is the adorable moment a hamster joined a family for dinner with its own miniature table and chair.

Amusing footage shows the pet golden rodent sitting on the tiny furniture placed on the dining table, enjoying boiled corn in Zhongshan, China, on January 6.

It can be seen holding the food with both paws, slowly nibbling while its young owner and mother eat beside it.

The filmer said: 'It is a well-behaved hamster, and it has become our routine for it to eat with us.'

Hamsters are nocturnal, curious but territorial pets that recognise owners by scent, hoard food, and need a balanced diet of pellets, fruits, veggies, and protein while avoiding toxic foods, making them good pets for children with proper care.
