A cruel friend shoved an unexpecting girl into a lagoon while they were canyoneering.

The visitor was waiting for her turn to dive into the water but Gersa May Rosales appeared to be scared of the height in Cebu, the Philippines on March 11.

But instead of giving Gersa May time to compose herself, the merciless friend pushed her with her foot.

Footage shows Gersa May being lightly kicked in the stomach which caused her to lose her foothold on the cliff.

She plunged backwards into the water and made a huge splash.

Gersa May said: 'They were reassuring me that everything would be fine. I was scared. They were negotiating with me to jump until my friend playfully pushed me into the water.'

Gersa May was unhurt, and the group carried on with their trip along the canyoneering trail.
