The footage reveals emergency teams heroically pulling survivors from the water after the aircraft smashed into the sea, claiming twelve lives. Police and rescuers have been on the scene from the outset, battling harsh conditions to save those trapped in the aftermath. The plane, owned by Líneas Aéreas Nacionales de Honduras Sociedad Anónima (LANHSA), plunged into the waves, leaving five survivors and one person still missing, according to the Fire Department’s social media posts. Initially, 17 passengers were reported on board, later updated to 18. Among the deceased is Garifuna singer-songwriter Aurelio Martínez Suazo, a naturalized American and former Honduran Parliament member for the Liberal Party. French survivor Helen Odile Guibar was whisked to a hospital in San Pedro Sula, Honduras’ second city. The wreckage remains submerged 50 meters deep, with emergency crews recovering bodies from the fuselage despite low visibility and brutal weather.
