Storm Laurence caused severe flooding in Malaga, Spain.

Aerial footage shows the extent of the damage across the region, with houses submerged in floodwaters following heavy rain and swollen rivers.

Authorities from the Guardia Civil rescued at least 20 individuals and their pets from flooded homes in Cartama on March 18.

Reports indicated that the Guadalhorce River, a key drainage route for the province, surpassed its historical record with an 18ft (5.46m) surge, exceeding the 2016 peak and leading to a state of emergency in Cartama.

The Campanillas River, overwhelmed by water from the Casasola dam, overflowed into Malaga's suburbs, resulting in the evacuation of 370 families from Santa Amalia, La Isla, and La Hacienda.

The heavy rainfall impacted the country for a third consecutive week on Tuesday. Officials reported that at least two individuals are missing.
