Four injured after West Midlands Fire Service Vehicle crashes onto roof in Wolverhampton crash

Four people were injured after a West Midlands Fire Service Brigade Response Vehicle (BRV) rolled onto its roof when it collided with another vehicle close to a roundabout at the junction of Stafford Road and Bushbury Lane in Wolverhampton on Wednesday 19 March morning.

The other vehicle was not visible but the Fire Service 4x4 was badly damaged with its roof caved in.

The fire service vehicle, used for minor fires, accidents and to get to places a larger fire engine cannot reach, can carry 3 firefighters along with equipment.

West Midlands Ambulance sent Two ambulances and two paramedic officers attended the scene. A spokesman said: 'We were called to reports of a two-vehicle RTC at 9am. 'Two ambulances and two paramedic officers attended the scene.

'On arrival we discovered four patients, all of whom were assessed and treated for minor injuries. 'All four patients were discharged at the scene.'

A fire engine from Fallings Park remained at the scene whilst the vehicle was being recovered.

Area Commander Gemma McSweeney of West Midlands Fire Service said: ‘At 9.02am on Wednesday 19 March, two fire engines responded to Stafford Road, Wolverhampton. 

‘One of our 4x4 vehicles, carrying three firefighters, had been in collision with a car. 

‘Our first priority was the welfare of all involved. Fortunately, no-one was trapped or seriously hurt.

''The ambulance service assessed and discharged four people at the scene.’
