US, Los Angeles: Leimert Park 4 Year Old Killed In Hit And Run Collision

Los Angeles, United States - March 18, 2025 03/18/2025 11:01 pm (GMT-0700) LEIMERT PARK, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department's South Traffic Division are seeking the public's help in identifying the driver involved in a hit-and-run traffic collision that left a 4-year-old child dead. The fatal crash occurred around 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 3700 block of South Crenshaw Boulevard in the Leimert Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. According to the LAPD, a white Infiniti FX35 was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Crenshaw Boulevard at Rodeo Place when the driver lost control and crashed into a building on the northwest corner of the intersection. The driver failed to remain at the scene and render aid to a 4-year-old passenger inside the vehicle. The driver abandoned the Infiniti and fled in a white sedan, according to the LAPD. Additional resources were requested to the scene after Los Angeles Fire Department personnel arrived. Firefighters indicated that a pediatric patient was in full cardiac arrest. The child was transported by LAFD Rescue 34 to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The LAPD reported that two other passengers were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. One was the child's mother. LAPD's South Traffic units had closed Crenshaw to traffic while officers conducted their investigation. The driver who fled the scene was described as a Black female, possibly in her 30s, according to the LAPD.
