US: Crazed Florida Man Steals Ambulance, Leads Cops on Wild Chase While Guzzling Beer
Tampa, United States - March 19, 2025 A boozed-up bloke nicked an ambulance and took police on a madcap chase through the streets of Tampa, all while chugging a can of beer. The dramatic dashcam footage shows Florida Highway Patrol Troopers in hot pursuit as the stolen emergency vehicle blasts through stop signs, weaves dangerously through traffic, and even veers onto the wrong side of the road, nearly smashing into oncoming cars. The wild ride came to a halt when the driver finally pulled over, casually finishing his beer before cops yanked open the door, dragged him out, and slapped the cuffs on him. The chaos kicked off around 8:40 PM on Saturday after an alert went out that a Tampa Fire Rescue ambulance had been swiped from HCA South Tampa Hospital. Troopers spotted the runaway vehicle just ten minutes later and tried to pull it over, but the driver floored it instead. Police have named the suspect as 43-year-old local Michael J. Esquilin, who now faces a laundry list of charges including burglary of an emergency vehicle, grand theft, fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest, and DUI. Cops say Esquilin admitted he’d been knocking back drinks for two days straight and pinched the ambulance after first responders refused to give him a lift home. The shocking video of his arrest has left locals stunned.
