A stray kitten stranded on a motorway reservation was rescued and adopted by a kind passing driver.

Footage shows the tiny moggy cowering on a narrow concrete lane barrier as the Good Samaritan Kritsada Pangdee crossed to save it in Bangkok, Thailand.

Kritsada walked through speeding vehicles on Bhumibol Bridge and carried the tabby to his car.

However, the scared feline hid under the driver's chair and had to be extracted before finally reaching his new family's house on March 8.

Kritsada said: 'I am the new fur parent of the cat now. I named it Pop.'

Thailand, a largely Buddhist nation, believes that kindness towards animals should be encouraged, with temples sometimes being a safe refuge for stray cats, dogs, and even monkeys that don't have homes.
